Taguig City – Thousands of cyclists will convene at McKinley West in Taguig City this August 20 to 21 for the annual Philippine Bicycle Demo & Expo 2022. More than 250 different types of bicycles will be displayed and will be available for buying.

Now on its sixth run, the event aims to bridge Filipino bikers and various brands of bicycles and accessories in the global market. This interaction will allow bikers to see and try the different products, making them empowered to make decisions on which ones to purchase or to aspire for.

“The Philippine Bicycle Demo and Expo 2022 serves bikers and potential bikers by offering a unique full-engagement platform whereby a vast array of bicycles from all the world-class brands are available for them to see and demo ride on actual road courses and dirt trails the bicycles were designed for. The same platform offers the biking industry more B2B engagements as well,”  said Arnel Marcelo Andal,  co-Founder of Philippine Bicycle Demo & Expo Group.

More than 45 bicycle brands are participating for the benefit of the thousands of cycling aficionados and interested guests who are eager to try this outdoor sport. Some of the premium bikes available for test run are road bikes, triathlon bikes, gravel bikes, mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes, folding bikes, and leisure bikes.

This year’s Philippine Bicycle Demo and Expo will also have grander events that cyclists will have fun exploring.

E-Bikes Re-Launch

More pedal-assisted electric bicycles or E-bikes with better features are to be launched on-site by various brands like E-Velo, Fiido, Himo, Frey, Accolmile, Ado, SMCC, and Specialized Bicycles, Giant, Corratec, and Xiaomi. These E-bikes offer alternative means for enjoying the trails and roads for people who want a less strenuous cycling experience for a longer period versus riding typical mechanical bicycles. More importantly, E-bikes allow for riders of differing ages and fitness levels to ride with those who are of better fitness levels. These bikes allow for more parent and child bonding and even grandparent and grandchildren bonding through cycling.

More Gravel Please

Gravel bikes are the new normal for cycling in the country today. Gravel bikes provide the mobility and capability to reach destinations inaccessible to normal road or commuter bicycles. These versatile machines have created a huge demand and usage of bicycles during the pandemic period.

The Philippine Bicycle Demo and Expo 2022 is part of the Philippine series of Bicycle Demo ride events which happens yearly before the pandemic. It has evolved to be an expo wherein 95% of the cycling industry participates and helps provide huge sales of their products. The last  Philippine Bicycle Demo Day was held last December 2019 in Arcovia City which saw 15,000 attendees enjoy bicycles for two whole days.

The innovative event format is unique in the Philippines and in Asia. The organizers Arnel Marcelo Andal and Edmund Ang come from the different cycling disciplines of Road Biking, Endurance Racing, Gravel Racing, Trail Mountain Biking, and Cross Country Mountain Biking.
