Uptown Bonifacio, Taguig City –  Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and over 300 of its restaurant partners are donating over 10,000 free meals to frontliners through the Eat Out & Help Out campaign, an initiative aimed at reviving the country’s economy while helping frontliners amid the COVID-19 pandemic. 

 

Mr. Graham M. Coates, head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, Ms. Tefel Pesigan – Valentino, vice president and head of marketing and business development of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls and Mr. Rene Arnobit, VP and head of mall operations of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls turned over Php 500,000 worth of free meals to representatives of partner hospitals, medical institutions and local government units.

 

Present at the turnover ceremony were Dr. Cristina Emily Guererro, Chief of Clinics/Chief of Doctors; Cynthia Carrranza, Chief Nurse, and Dr. Ma. Victoria Dinnah Cabinte, Hospital Operations & Patient Support Services/Hospital Administrator of Taguig Pateros District Hospital. Also in attendance were Evangeline Eusebio, Chief Nurse of the Patient Care Service, and Filipina M. Nicolas, Secretary – Chief of Hospital of Pasay City General Hospital, together with Joanna Christina Santos, Head – Food & Nutrition Management Section, Florifel Lodriguito, Head – Human Resources, and Carl Jerbee Ligon, Head – Accreditation & Regulations and Liaison Officer of Ospital ng Makati.

 

Frontliners from Quezon City General Hospital, Justice Jose Abad Santos, Ospital ng Biñan, the Municipality of Laurel Batangas and Western Visayas Medical Center will also receive free meals.

 

The campaign, which ran from October 30 to December 31, 2020, aimed at encouraging dining patrons to support and help local businesses recover from the economic toll of the pandemic while paying tribute to the country’s modern-day heroes at the frontlines leading the battle against the pandemic. 

 

Through the program, diners were able to lend a helping hand and provide meals to frontliners by dining in at their favorite food joints and restaurants at Megaworld Lifestyle Malls. For every P1,000 spend at participating restaurants, a hearty meal will be donated to a frontliner on behalf of the dining customer. 

 

“We are delighted with the turnout of the Eat Out and Help Out Campaign as we were able to provide hearty meals to 10,012 frontliners serving different communities all over the Philippines,” Mr. Coates said. “The initiative is a testament to Filipinos’ innate ‘bayanihan’ spirit amid challenging times. We hope that our continued partnership with the health and business sectors will spark hope and inspire strength as we look forward to better times.”
